Brooklyn YR Club Joins in Calling for NYS Assembly to Pass Capital Punishment Bill

We all mourn the passing of Police Office Russel Timoshenko, who lost his brave battle for life this past weekend after being shot by thugs in Brooklyn.  In light of this, the Brooklyn YR Club joins with Brooklyn Republican lawmakers Congressman Vito Fossella, Senator Marty Golden and Councilman James Oddo in urging the NYS Assembly, led by Democrat Shelly Silver, to pass a Capital Punishment bill.   Last week, two NYPD officers were shot without hesitation during a routine traffic stop in Brooklyn.  Further, since December 2006, more than a dozen New York City police officers have been assaulted while doing their jobs, and between 2002 and 2006, 13 officers in New York State have been killed in the line of duty.
