RESOLUTION #5-2010 – To amend Resolution #4-2010 regarding membership applications

RESOLVED, That paragraph (a) of RESOLUTION #4-2010 shall be stricken and replaced with the following:

(a) New/Renewal Membership Application: Every application for new or renewed membership in the Club shall contain the applicant’s full name, home address, date of birth, gender, email address, cell phone number, website (if applicable), social networking site memberships (if applicable), a referring/sponsoring member (if applicable), educational and occupational background and status, the specified class and level of membership, and advanced payment of dues for the specified class and level of membership. All dues payments must be made by the personal funds of the new or renewing member.  No new or renewing member may be reimbursed by any individual or entity for payment of dues, nor may any new or renewing member permit or solicit an individual or entity to pay dues on his/her behalf.  Failure to comply with this requirement shall be sufficient cause for the Board of Directors to reject a new or renewal membership application. Each application shall contain the following affirmation to be signed, in writing or electronically, by the new or renewing member:

I hereby affirm that I meet the basic qualifications for membership to the Brooklyn Young Republican Club as defined in the Club Bylaws, namely that I have a general preference for and/or I am in sympathy with the principles of the Republican Party, and that I desire to promote the objects of the club.  Furthermore, included are the appropriate membership dues paid in full for the term of membership expiring December 31, ____.   Such dues have been paid out of my own personal funds; they were not paid out of the funds of any other individual or entity on my behalf, nor will I accept reimbursement by any individual or entity for the payment of dues.

No application shall be considered unless it meets these requirements.
