The Brooklyn Young Republican Club Mourns the Passing of former New York City Mayor Ed Koch (1924-2013).

Mayor Koch, will be remembered as the outspoken three-term New York City Mayor who led the biggest U.S. city from the brink of bankruptcy in the late 1970s and boosted the spirits of crime-weary residents, and for crossing party lines for the betterment of his city and Country.

We also honor Mayor Koch’s service not only to our city but to our country, as a Veteran of World War II .  He was a symbol of how America could take a child of Russian-Jewish immigrants and make him into the Mayor of the most powerful city in the Country.

We are comforted by the thought that  now Heaven has a new Mayor, and I have a feeling he will be asking God “How am I doing.”  I know God’s response will be, you are doing great.

We will all miss a true New York character. May God Bless Mayor Ed Koch.

Brooklyn Young Republican Club.
